What we collect

From the inquiry form we collect your name, email address, chosen appointment, preferred date if you give one, and the message describing the subject you want to read. If you later confirm a booking, we also keep the written scope, fee, transfer reference, and correspondence about changes. We do not ask for resident registration numbers, payment card numbers, private keys, or seed phrases.

Why we use it

We use these details to reply, to decide whether a subject fits a session, desk, workshop, or note, to schedule, to issue a confirmation, and to keep the bookkeeping record of a paid appointment. The lawful grounds we rely on are your request before a contract, the contract itself once you confirm, and our legitimate interest in running the reading room safely. Where Korean law requires consent for a specific use, we ask for that consent separately.

Retention

Inquiry messages that never become an appointment are kept for 24 months and then deleted. Correspondence and fee records for a paid appointment are kept for five years to meet Korean bookkeeping duties, then deleted. A visitor field note is filed on the shelf only when you ask us in writing to keep a copy, and it stays until you ask for it to be removed.

Your rights

Under the Personal Information Protection Act of Korea you may request access to the personal information we hold, correction of inaccurate details, deletion, and suspension of processing, subject to the records we must keep for bookkeeping. Send the request to hello@reasonjunction.click. We reply within a reasonable period and, where the statute sets a deadline, within that deadline. You may also lodge a complaint with the Personal Information Protection Commission.

International transfers

We keep our inquiry and appointment files in Seoul. We do not sell personal information and we do not move our files to a foreign affiliate. If you email us, your message passes through your own email provider, which may store mail on servers outside Korea. Typefaces on this website are requested from Google Fonts; that request discloses your IP address to Google when the page loads. Details of cookies are on the cookies page.

Sharing

We share personal information with a bank when you pay by transfer, because the transfer itself identifies the payment, and with a postal service if you ask for a printed research note to be mailed inside Korea. Staff who see the file are Minjae Park and Hana Seo, limited to what each appointment requires.

Children

Appointments are arranged with adults. If you are booking for a student, the confirmation is made with the adult who will be responsible for the fee.
